From Ombre To Blonde

Hi there,

I need some help! I used to have a full head of blonde highlights and then decided to have it dyed brown/ombre/ballayage at the hairdressers. I now miss being blonde and really want to go full blonde like Holly Willoughbys hair. See pictures for my hair now and how I want it.

The hairdressers always tell me not to go full head bleach but I think that is the only way I can achieve this look. Holly uses Garnier Nutrisse pearly blondes hair dye, she's now the face for them but looking at her picture, I'm wondering how she achieves this.

Would you say that she goes for a full head bleach and then puts this dye over the top like a toner? Or is it a full head of highlights with the dye on top?

Can you please advise me whether I should go with full head highlights over my ombre or full head to get this look?

Thanks,
Carly x

The first thing you want to do is use a colour remover (Decolour remover, jo bazz, colour B4 etc) to get rid of as much brown as possible. You can use them up to three times. Once you've done that we can help further.

Thanks πŸ™‚ So I do that and then post a picture afterwards? Will it take it back to my original colour before full head of blonde highlights? I haven't had my natural hair colour since I was 15 and I'm now 36 lol.

It's hard to say what you'll get, but it won't be your natural colour. Bleaching, highlighting and making your hair lighter in anyway removes natural colour so it can't go back to that. πŸ™‚ if you're lucky it will take you back to your blonde highlights.
