Hi guys (my apologies for my bad English),
After collecting several information on my actual hair problem, I need some advise from people who may have had a similar problem/who can confirm some advises I was given, because now I really don't know who to trust or what to believe. I'll explain:
I'm an Asian girl with natural black hair. For two years I used to dye my hair red (obtaining a mahogany tone). After spending two weeks in Thailand, I came back with lightened hair on several spots (a total disaster). I didn't really have a definable haircolour. So I went to the hair stylist who told me that we could try something nice. So we did.
The hair stylist bleached my hair's end (+applied olaplex) to get an ombrΓ© black-blond. It is at this point that I made a mistake. I didn't ask to see the blond-result so I don't know how blond my hair are. Directly after bleaching the hair, the stylist dyed them dark grey adding a bit of blue (yup that's the moment when you remember your art lessons... blue + yellow = green). The end result was nice for a week, but then the ends of my ombrΓ© started to get green. Now I'm stuck with military coloured hair.
Completely annoyed by this, I called the stylist back and she told me that I could come back to put some blue and grey again (to make it short: to refresh the colour). I didn't agree with it because I thought it wouldn't solve my problem, but still I accepted to make an appointment. Not trusting this stylist, I went to see another one who explained to me why I turned green. Apparently my blond was too yellow/ not white enough. He advised me to go back to the first stylist and ask for a hair peeling in order to get that green off or to bleach again to obtain white hair (+eventually get the famous grey I want). Both stylists are professionals but somehow I'm still skeptical about the result. As an Asian my hair is still healthy and strong but I think I'm gonna leave bleaching/dyeing for a while after solving this problem. Who can I trust/believe? What should I consider in order not to get scammed again?
PS: If someone knows a trick I could do myself to get the green off, please share the knowledge:)
Thanks for the advises π
What is the result you'd actually like? Grey? Blonde? Are you ok with something a little darker than blonde? There's ways of doing them all!
Greys fade extremely quickly. Blues can either fade quickly or stick around forever, it depends on the type of colour.
The colours will fade more cleanly on a lighter base (so you wouldn't get the green step) but these colours still need to be topped up regularly, especially if you wash your hair a lot. Generally greys do go on best over hair that has been bleached to pale yellow and toned to white, but darker greys can cover up more.
You can go over the grey on the ends with semi-permanent colour (no peroxide) and add some to your conditioner to help keep the colour topped up.
So I went to the stylist yesterday and she bleached my hair again, so that they became platinum blonde (with a light rosΓ© tone in it). This dark grey experience was kind of a failure so I won't do it again. I will leave my hair platinum blonde for now (I don't want to kill my hair either). Thanks anyway for your advises guys (if one day I want to go grey again I'll know what to do).
The stylist told me that if I wanted to make my hair white, I could lighten them naturally with silver shampoo and honey. What do you think of that?
The silver shampoo is a good idea, it will stop your hair from turning brassy yellow but you shouldn't need the honey!
