Hello,
Basically I used to have turquoise hair and with fading treatments the lightest I could get my hair was a bright mint. I wanted to go dark grey and was told on here that my base was fine to go dark grey. I put the Colour Freedom stone grey PERMANENT dye on my hair and when washed and styled my hair was more of a navy blue than a grey. I'm finding this boring and want to go bright orange.
1) Am I right in thinking that colourb4 should work to remove the dark blue (supposed to be grey) as it's a permanent dye? Or will it be staining as it's come out blue?
2) if I can get my hair to a mint can I put bright orange over that?
It should take out the grey/navy but I can't guarantee. Those dyes haven't been around long and I don't know how much they stain.
It really depends on how strong the mint is. It's completely the wrong base for orange unfortunately, so it would have to be pretty pale to get even a very bright orange over. And then there's a strong chance of a nasty fade. Do the colour remover, then see where you are. You would almost certainly be better going around the colour wheel to get to orange though.

Thank you for your help. I'm going to strip my hair today to see where that takes me. How exactly would I go around the colour to get to orange? (Sorry I'm a newbie in regards to getting to and from certain colours).
I know bleaching is bad but will bleach not get rid of staining? Or will the staining be stuck in my hair regardless of bleach?
Sometimes bleaching can remove the staining, but you run a risk of setting the stain in deeper. When it opens the cuticles it can actually force any colour left further into the hair and that's night on impossible to get out.
This is the colour wheel
You're in the blue/green stage right now. You see how it's directly opposite to orange? Well, you need to work around the colours, in sequence, until you get to orange. So, green to yellow to orange. Or, Blue to Purple to Red to orange. I'd actually suggest the latter as green and yellow are weak colours and you'll struggle to get yellow over mint/green leftovers. Blue isn't too strong of a colour, but purples and reds are and they will lend you a good base covering the mint to eventually get to orange. You can sometimes force it a little sooner, like skip the blue and go from mint to purple by adding pink to the mint (depending on how green/blue it is).

That's great, thank you for your help. So if I put pink over and it goes purple then what do I do from there to go to orange? Fade it out again and then go orange or?
Also, I did the colourb4 and it was looking so good in the cling film (light light mint) but after the first buffer stage it went back dark again. I'm really not sure why as I timed it on my phone to what the instructions said to do. Somehow it has reoxedised mid wash? Any ideas?
