First full head bleach, got a few questions

So I've finally ordered myself some bleach, Truzone Rapid Blue powder and their 10vol developer. However, I've never done a full head bleach before, so I need some advice.

1. What is the lightest shade I can realistically expect to achieve with this strength of peroxide? I'm looking to achieve a mid to light ginger, and don't want to go any lighter than dark blonde. I have completely virgin hair, the colour of which you can see in my profile picture, taken in natural light.

2. Does the bleach need to be applied to the hair thickly or thinly?

3. When doing the roots as soon as the lengths/ends are done, do I still need to be careful to avoid overlapping as it's all part of the same process?

4. The only clarifying shampoo I have is a green colour. Will this be okay to use after bleaching ready to apply a semi dye, or will I need a clear one?

5. Will the semi shades I want to use (warm browns, reds, deep pinks and purples) prove forgiving if my base ends up uneven after bleaching?

I did a double clarifying shampoo last night to assess my hair's true condition. It was really rough and dry at first, but after it had time to settle it felt amazing, really soft and silky and easy to run my fingers through, pretty much the same as if I'd used conditioner. My plan now is to leave it several days to get as greasy as possible, then sleep in coconut oil overnight and apply the bleach straight on top of the oil.

Thanks in advance for your advice πŸ™‚

1. You can get fair hair totally blonde with 10 vol and the right bleach. I have never used the Truzone bleach powder though, so I can't comment on that. The powder affects the lift a lot though.
2. Thickly, you want to really saturate each section, front and back, so it doesn't dry out during processing
3. Don't worry about overlapping. Do try a strand test first so you have an idea about timing. otherwise you will end up with hot roots or dark ends.
4. Any shampoo is fine, some people just rinse with water
5. all those colours are pretty forgiving.
The most important thing is to do strand tests. Check the consistency of the product, check for lift, check timing.
Get plenty of product in the hair, and loosely cover the lengths to keep them warm. (i use a plastic bag)
If you can't get the bleach on quickly (and it does take practise, you could practise with thick conditioner) do half first then the second half after you have rinsed.

Truzone isn't great in my experience, actually kinda bad. But as you're just wanting mid ginger, it might be fine.

Thanks both πŸ™‚

There's been a problem with my bleach order and I've been refunded, so can you recommend a bleach powder you know will do a good job?

Blondeme, blondor, indola or matrix (i think it's matrix) are all good.

I just saw a review of Matrix Light Master in another thread, any idea how light I could get my hair using that with 10vol?

You could get platinum/inside of a banana if your hair lifts as easily as my daughters (it looks about the same colour/texture)

From medium brown to platinum with 10 vol? Wow, it must be good then πŸ˜€

If the pic of your hair is accurate, it looks like a level 7, a light brown rather than medium brown.
The amount of lift is very individual, so always try on a strand test, but yes, I got my daughters hair to almost white with LM and 10 vol. It is powerful stuff.

In reality it's maybe a shade darker, I always assumed I was a level 4 or 5. I was going to get 20vol but think I'll stick with the 10. I can't wait to see how it'll turn out now πŸ™‚
