few questions

Hello, its nearly time for me to bleach my roots. But just a few questions(apologies if these are in various threads)

People have mentioned dark and lovely cholesterol conditioner ( silicone free from what I remember)

Would this be a good conditioner to use before letting my hair go greasy ready for bleaching? And could I use it straight after a bleach too?

I use pure argon oil, can I use this on my hair before bleaching or would it interfere?

If I need to tone my hair, can I tone straight away? Il be making my own with directions neon blue and could I use that with the dark and lovely cholesterol conditioner?

Is it best to leave my hair alone for a few days after bleaching before I put in directions hair dye?

Thank you πŸ™‚ any other tips are greatly appreciated too πŸ™‚

It doesn't matter that much what conditioner you use before you're going to bleach, if it's one that suits your hair well then use it. You can use it after bleaching.

Use coconut oil on your hair rather than argon. Argon wouldn't interfere, but it won't protect in the way coconut oil will.

Yes, tone right away.

No need to wait, though you'll need to shampoo well after toning. Directions is non-damaging, it's conditioning even, so there's no need to wait. However, the conditioner from the toning will block the dye. I don't like the cholesterol conditioner myself, but I remember it coating quite heavily so you want to make sure that's gone.

Actually Argan oil is the only other oil that has the chelating action during bleach that coconut has. Most people use coconut because it is so much cheaper, but argan would definitely work.
I like to use a purple shampoo to wash the bleach out, I let it sit for 15 minutes so it can tone without interfering with my hairs ability to absorb dye.

Oh, sorry, I take it back πŸ™‚ I didn't think argon did the same.

hello, thank you both for the advice, i ended up with the Rainforest Hairbutter instead, as counldnt find the Dark and Lovely.  I ended up buying some coconut oil (i love it, been using it to make facial washes too) and using the argon oil too.

All stuff i kinda did know, but i always get really nervous when i have to bleach my hair!  It all went well in the end, now sitting with directions hairdye on my head, first application yesterday after bleaching was a little patchy, so this should turn out better πŸ™‚
