My hair is currently a strange blue-purple ombre, and it is very unevenly bleached. The roots are almost black while the tips are pale blonde (due to bleaching on multiple occasions in different ways over a long period of time)
I want to go pale pink next. (A challenge, I know, but hours of previousdying tell me I'm ready) Before I bleach my hair do you think I should dye my hair a solid darker color, like black or brown, to even out the toning? Or just try and bleach dark parts more heavily etc? Cutting it off would be difficult as the unevenness runs all the way up to an inch or two from the roots.

Definitely don't don't dye it a darker colour. That's completely pointless to be honest.
I would first fade as much of the blue and purple. Then use a colour remover to get rid of as much as possible. Then try spot bleaching the darker parts.
