Hi,
I just have a question on dying over highlights. I normally have dark brown hair but have had blonde hightlights for several years. I cant afford to get my highlights redone just now so wondered if it would be ok to put a permanent dye on my hair instead. I do have quite a lot of root showing and dark underneath my hair too. I was thinking of a darker natural blonde rather than bright blonde. Can you help? thanks,

I wouldn't. If your hair is dark brown a box dye is going to leave your regrowth very orangey/warm.
You could use direct dyes to make the highlights darker so it blends better, or do your own highlights with bleach. You can just do the front and the section and along the parting if doing a whole head is daunting
