(First I just want to say I have seen the tutorial on dying hair white). Ok so I have never dyed my hair before, it's still natural, or virgin I guess. My hair color is sort of a dark red (ginger). I want it to be white and have red tutorials and seen videos, but I really don't know what I'm doing. Since it's my first time, does that matter? Will my hair still being natural affect anything or do I need to do anything extra? And also lastly, how long, knowing my natural hair color, will this take? Any guesses? Thanks so much for any future help!!!
Also, I don't know if this helps, but as far as the condition my hair is in, I shampoo and condition it regularly and it is healthy π
You're going to have to bleach and if you've never done it before, please go to a hairdresser or a competent friend. White isn't the easiest colour to reach and you will damage your hair along the way so take it slowly, lots of protein treatments and coconut oil is a must.
In terms of how long it'll take, nobody can really answer that as it depends how well your hair lightens, how often you bleach etc but the general consensus is one bleach per month at the very most, you'll know the condition of your hair and if it can take what you're doing to it but please don't rush it, you'll risk frying your hair.
Regular trims, lots of k-paking and lots of babying and there's no reason you can't reach white.
As a guide, it took me about 4 months to go from black and blue mayhem to white and lilac and there are still parts of my hair that aren't light enough yet. Even that was pretty stupid as it took a lot of bleaching and I have to cut my hair every 6 weeks or so.
It is great that your hair is virgin, it will make the job of lightening it much easier.
You will need to bleach it several times to get to white, this is much safer than trying to do it all in one go. Wait at least a month between bleaching, ideally 6-8 weeks.
Your hair will go orange, then yellow, then a pale yellow/cream colour. This is the shade you need to achieve all over to be able to tone to white.
The only way to know how quickly it will lift is o do a strand test.
