Thank you in advance for any advice!
I am medium brown, with a lot of gray and white sprinkled in. And it almost always goes red with whatever light golden browns, or light golden blondes I use. But typically I try to stick in the 6-7 area..........
Ok, so now, I want to blonde it up a bit, so I used medium blonde 7N-7.0 with 20 processor...... And it was entirely too dark. Way too much red of course, and too dark. This was from the Believable Blondes Color Brilliance Ion from Sally's. And I had not colored for over a month! (Using the same color but a different brand)
So this morning, I used Color Oops, and it worked great! So much lighter and yes, it's a tint of orange as well. 😉
I can even see a few whites around my face. I decided to go with a full on 8 for the new color. 😊 I got the new Schwarzkopf Keratin Color in Silky Blonde 8.0. But first I am working on getting this orange out, the old color out before I dye it again.
Question 1; The Color Oops folks said that I could do it again, (and of course spend another $14 bucks for it) and then put a filler on it, and go ahead and re-dye it. I am not sure I want to do it again, but not sure it is "stripped" enough to take on the 8. I went to Sally's and bought the lighter neutral protein filler, so I have that on hand and ready. I looked online for other ways to get your hair almost stripped, and there are way too many.
Will the #8 dye grab on my orangey hair? The box states the developer is a 20. So should I strip again, or color correct again, just to make sure the #8 will grab?
Second question;
The instructions on the protein filler; are not real clear.
If I'm not going to color correct again; do I just shampoo my hair, and not condition; let it dry, and THEN put on the protein filler on for HOW MANY minutes; rinse it out, shampoo, but don't condition, let it dry;
And then use the new color? And use an awesome sealer/conditioner afterwards?
I'm so sorry to be a pain. But appreciate any help anyone can offer.
Now I will never complain about colorists cost again. 😔

You can try the colour remover again, but get color fix instead. It's better and not damaging like color oops apparently is. I'm in he U.K. So haven't used either, I'm going on other people's advice.
If it will remove the orange, it's impossible to say without seeing your hair. It might be staining, it might just be the natural colour of your hair after using dyes. As you say, it always goes red when you use a dye so it's probable that the latter is the case. Still, to save my hair I'd always use more color removers than I need to, to ensure she much dye/staining is gone before using a dye again.
I'm afraid I don't know anything about the protein filler, I don't use many as my hair is very sensitive to protein and I've definitely not used that one. I normally Google if I'm not sure. Just be wary of you tube videos!
Definitely do not use color oops, that stuff is terrible, color fix is much better, I can use it 3 times on my hair and only have slight dryness to my hair, but nothing that some coconut oil wont fix!
As for the protein filler, I used to use a filler when I went red to help the color last, all the filler is doing is helping the color stick to your hair, so I used to add my filler right into my hair dye, it made it a bit runnier, but that worked in my favor because my hair soaked up color like a sponge!
So I would try color fix then shampoo, no conditioner, then do your protein filler mixed into your hair dye and put that all on and process then shampoo and tone if necessary and deep condition, it cuts out a step and saves you some aggravation!
Ok, thanks so much guys. I'm going to get some color fix today or tomorrow. I appreciate the help! 😍
