Hello. I've I been colouring my hair with high lift tint for years and fancied trying it dark. So I put on a permanent colour with a hint of red and then a semi medium brown. I would now really like my blonde hair back so I am using colour B4 to try and strip out the brown/red. I've done the treatment twice already and on my third today. It's taking the colour out bit by bit. My question is when the lotion is on for 60mins my hair lifts to a lovely bright blonde but then during the rinse stage (rinsed for 15mins as I have long fine hair) it goes quite dark again. End result IS lighter than before but no wear near as light as during process stage. Im very careful to keep the room and water warm and rinse for the full length of time. Is this supposed to happen or am I missing something? Thank you for any help ypu can give me.
Unfortunately, it sounds like the colour is locked deep in your hair. So the molecules are shrinking, but then aren't leaving your hair so growing again (that's very much in laymans terms as I can't remember the technical terms right now lol).
You could try using water as hot as you can stand to make sure the hair cuticles open as much as possible, but it's also possible they're stuck. Using high lift dyes for a long time is pert of the problem, staining, damage there's all sorts of reasons connnected to those alone. But if you also say use a lot of products with silicones, this could also be the issue.
Do you use a strong clarifying shampoo before you use it? The hair needs to be a clean as humanly possible to make sure it works as well as it can.
