Sorry if this question has been asked before, but does this only work on hair that was dyed recently? I'm trying to remove a dark brown dye from the ends of my hair because I want to go lighter. However, it was done at a salon about eight months ago, and I'm wondering whether this product work on something that was done that long ago.

Yes, absolutely! It won't lift quite as well as new dye, but there's a good chance it will do something, and unlike bleach it's not damaging.

Thank you very much! π
This is very helpful!
I tried colourb4 today, and like an idiot, forgot to use the buffer before applying my new colour on top. Will this just mean my new colour won't take very well or is something more serious going to happen?!
Thanks! x
Hey,
Basically I used colour b4 2weeks ago, it went mousy ginger ehich was fine, then dyed my hair with a casting creme gloss in amber...and it's gone almost black. Im assuming it has re oxidised(doh!), my question is, will using colour b4 again lift it? Or once it's reoxidised, is that it, I have to grow it out? Thanks in advance! Ax
You could try another ColourB4 but you will have to make sure you rinse a lot and wait at least a week if you are gonna redye or a month if the casting creme gloss you used was a permanent/semi permanent so you don't risk overprocessing and damaging your hair.
Hello there !
I need to have some questions answered for that color b4 thing please!forgive me for my bad english π and also forgive me if I'm going to ask stupid things! :/
So i've dyed two times my hair ,once dark brown and the other one black ,while my ends where bleached once before 2 years.now I want to go white!and i really know i shouldn't begin with bleach but with color b4.
All i want to ask is a clarification please, about what exactly do i have to do after the color b4 processing ,cause i've read that you MUST put afterwards a semi-permanent dye to not get back to the black again?but i want to bleach my hair after a week or more so why dye them by causing another obstacle for the upcoming bleach to my hair?
I mean ,aren't the many washes before bleaching enough for the black dye not to come back?do I really have to do this semi-permanent dye?
Please help me!!!
and thank you in advance π
No, I think you're misreading the information.
You don't HAVE to use a semi permanent dye after using colour b4, you can do a semi colour straight after colour b4, but you need to leave it a week before bleaching. During that week, wash and rinse your hair as much as possible. You want to make sure all of the molecules of colour that have been shrunk are gone as they can be re-oxidised by the bleach and make your hair go back to the colour you thought you had removed.
Oh!I see
OK thank youu SOOOO MUCH!I appreciate your quick response:))I really needed to clear that!!Now I'm finally not confused at all
:))))
OH
and just one last question
does it matter what products will I use during that week to wash, dry or anything else ,(conditioners, shampoos, sprays, masks etc)my hair? will some of them effect the results ,by which I mean going darker during the use of them ?
As far as I'm aware none of those should affect it. The main important thing is lots and lots of rinsing.
It's ammonia free plus it's gets rid of unwanted hairdye but it also leaves a stench afterwards
I have natural dark blonde hair, I was wondering if Colour B4 would change the undyed portion of my hair? I have this pinky dark color that I want to get rid of, It's Deep purple faded and covered with devilish mixed with deep purple. I just purchased Special FX Purple Smoke, I don't think it will cover over the color I have streaked throughout right now....here's a picture..Thanks for any help! ALSO I'm not sure colour b4 is available here, any other that you can reccomend that do the same thing? Color oops??
Hmm. You could use a vitamin c see mask or head and shoulders
10 tsp 2,500mg vitamin C powder (which is 25g of Vitamin C, or 25 tabs of 100mg Vitamin C tablets)
40ml Shampoo (anti-dandruff shampoo works even better when removing hair dye)

Colour removers like Colour B4, Jo Bazz, Scott Cornwall's Decolour Remover and Color Oops (if you're in the states) do not affect unprocessed hair. They are also undamaging. Colour strippers, however, like L'Oreal Color Zap do contain peroxide and will affect the undyed hair.
We have a thread on at-home ways to fade hair dye here.
Just my 2p's worth...
Colour B4 used last night on the ends of my hair, which had probably a good 3 years black colour build up with some remaining red underneath too. Overall, really chuffed with the result - Having my hair done Ombre on Sunday so will make sure I've washed my hair at least 3 times before then to ensure all the molecules are out! π
