Hi everyone! I decided I'm going to get my hair bleached at a saloon. But I doubt if the hairdresser would want to bleach my hair if I go there with coconut oil on. Or even if the bleach would work over it or if she would know how to apply it correctly with the oil on.
Has anyone done this before and can help me out? xD I'm really confused right now.
Go in and talk to the hairdresser first. Explain the benefits. They will either agree or they won't. It's pretty much the same as bleaching normally, just a bit wetter! It just has to be warm enough that the oil doesn't start to set hard, which most salons are.
My hairdresser was really intrigued when I proposed it to him and he was happy to do it. He was really impressed with how soft my hair was afterwards and actually thought it lifted a shade more than my hair usually did without coconut oil.
Definitely ask first though.
My hairdresser didn't believe it would help, but didn't mentioned it again at the next appointments.
The bleach eats through every oil, that's what he said.
I know it helps though, because the one time, when my hair was first washed/cut and then bleached, I recognized the difference immediately. I would never do that again!
