thats stuff is fine Ruby its 100% pure and edible cheap too!
It's official: I LOVE coconut oil!
yaaaay me too! it works for all good things!
didn't work for me at all ๐
I bought some coconut oil today from Holland & Barret....a big 500ml tub for 6.95 in the half price sale. Iit smells LUSH (and tastes good too lol) and I have it on at the moment to give my bleach a good conditioning treatment before I pop some toner on.
I just melted 3 tablespoons full in the microwave for 30 seconds and drenched my hair, now sat with a Hello Kitty shower cap on for the next hour lol
Gutted! i bought that coconut oil last week at full price! guess ill have to go get 2 more tubs on friday ๐
I am going to stock up too! Well I washed it off and popped my toner on......the yellowish tinge is definitely fading and it feels so soft, not like straw like it did this morning, and shiny too. I am going to keep off the bleach for the next month and keep using a reconstructor, coconut oil and my toner to get it into a decent condition before I bleach bath it again. I too LOVE coconut oil! Double thumbs up from me ๐
It's awesome!!! And saved my hair. Again. ๐ (Longest description ever to follow ^^)
After keeping off box-dying / bleaching for 2 months to get a decent condition back ( joico & coconut oil & Aussie = win!) i just HAD to make a mess again: my roots were showing so I bought a lightening kit, not to go white, but just lighter than my mousey medium brown (usually it works if I leave it for a short time, but it seems that the italian and the norwegian meanings of lightening aren't exactly the same^^)
After 2 days coconut oil on my hair I started putting it on my roots, but as soon as I finished at the front it went all light lemony-yellow in like 2 mins. Never happened before. ๐ฎ I panicked and washed all out, then added water and the leftover of a mask for blonde hair (jojoba oil, aloe etc) to the small amount bleach I had left and put it like conditioner on and blow-dried all the darker lengths til it was uniform (yes, I had huge sparkling neon sign in my head telling me 'you're gonna fry it all!' so don't try it, please!) and washed all out. (insert conditioning like mad ) I was so scared (all my fault, I know), but it's actually soft and shiny!! And golden, like jewellery gold! I'm so happy!
Sorry for the longest post ever, but I just wanted to show that if it could hold my hair attached to my head through this, it's really a great help for hair!! xx
I actually prefer henna wax,
Yes, as you have already mentioned on another thread about coconut oil here. However this thread is about using coconut oil under bleach/box dye to prevent damage, so unless you mean that you've used henna wax as a bleach/dye pre-treatment and it worked better than coconut/argan oil, i'm not entirely sure that your comment was helpful here.
Yeah, i have.
I think it did,
And, i never knew i did ๐ฎ
Sorry, dude.
I just kinda wanted to say,
Hey sorry I was being an arsey b*tch about it, it was the fever talking (I haz the flu). But yea henna wax sounds nice, I hear lots of people raving about it, should give it a try some day.
Yeah,
Its alrighty, i take things too litterally, thinking i can say whatever all the time xD
I hope you get better soon ๐

Don't worry about it, I am the forum owner and I find myself repeating things in various threads too! The forum is so large it's hard to keep track of what we say where. ๐
Henna wax sounds good and not something I have used myself before - maybe you can start your own thread giving your thoughts and experience on using this? I am sure this will be very interesting to other members too.
Definitely go for it, I'm sure lots of people want to know about it (including me).
