My husband did that when I brought the tub of coconut oil home!  He didn't even know it was edible, just decided to eat a bit of it cause it smelt nice!

Haha, oh god I hope he doesn't do that with everything you bring home that smells nice!!! Saying that I've actually tasted some sugar scrub before, even though I knew it wasn't edible but it smelled so damned good and was full of sugar and fruity stuff so the brain took over and I licked a bit off my finger. It was horrible!

It's about the same height as a 1 pint bottle of milk, but bigger around, if that helps!  And he actually does want to eat things that smell really nice, like vanilla shower gel, or strawberry shampoo, and sometimes he does try to taste them.  Oh gosh, that makes it sound like my husband is a bit of a retard, but he's not really!  He's just a little bit odd in his own way!

It is huge, about 450g which is about the same size as a large mug... average shampoo bottles are about 250ml each so about two bottles of shampoo.

Pretty good seeing as the superdrug ones are 2 for £2.99 and they are 125ml each so not a massive difference in amount of product vs cost.

Nah I do this too, I can't help it!  And I'm pretty sure I'm not a retard, just a little odd at times haha! I remember reading in the paper ages ago that some woman got mental pregnancy cravings.... she ate furniture polish! That doesn't even smell like food!

Just thought I'd add something useful to this thread:

In my procrastination last night I cut off two end bits of my hair, each about half a centimetre wide. I soaked one with coconut oil and left it for 2 hours or so. Then I put 30 vol bleach on both of the bits and left them for 30 mins.

The hair with coconut oil was significantly lighter in colour than the non-coconut oiled hair. I rinsed both with water and let them dry, and the coconut oiled hair felt so much smoother than the other and the ends of the hair seem less 'bushy', if that makes sense.

I really didn't think the difference between the two bits of hair would be that noticable, but wow, I'm totally sold!!!

Do you think this discovery will ever be used in salons as a pre-bleach treatment?  I walked past the local hairdressers this morning and saw someone getting foils and in my head I was like "noooooooo use the coconut oil"!!!

I had my hair cut at Rush in London last Thursday and the girl who did my hair had recently gone from black to mid brown and she was talking about how much money it cost her and how her hair is wrecked and she's using loads of treatments on it. She hadn't heard of colourb4 and said the only way to get it lighter is to lighten it with stripper/effasol/bleach. I just think it's mad that salons haven't brought out their own line of colour b4, it would save so much damage!
