hello! saw all of this last night and went out today to holland and barratt's and got myself a big jar of coconut oil... it smells and feels great!

i was just wondering how much you need to put on your hair? i put so much on that it looked wet... if i squeezed it, oil would come out. i've blotted quite a bit out because i was worried i put too much in but i juts wanted to check on what everyone else has to say, thank you!

That is too much really, you'll end up with it continually running down your face and neck! Really, you just want enough to cover well, but not overly saturate.

i thought that was probably the case! i've blotted a bit more out and now have my hair wrapped in a towel to soak up excess and fingers crossed it'll work okay! thank you. 🙂

So great to hear actual scientific facts about coconut oil and bleaching! I had already used coconut oil last summer when I was bleaching to get from red to purple, but I had no idea whether the oil would actually be of any help.

Just wanted to add my thanks. Found a tub of pure coconut oil at Savers for £1, and it really helps with the condition of my hair each time I bleach. And my hands have never been softer...
