Yeah, I always used to use powder, it is a lot better and more natural looking.
But be careful with the coconut oil, it can end up being more damaging, so don't use it too often. My hair hates it.
My eyebrows are stupid, the hairs are really far apart, the powder does actual wonders π
My hair feels pretty good after bleaching it with coconut oil on my hair. It's gone orange with some blondey bits, but it was my first time bleaching so I probably washed it off too early due to fear of my hair falling out π I also shouldn't have been stingey and should've mixed up a second batch of bleach to make sure all my hair was covered, but I'll know for next time π
hi there, im in lancashire and i was wondering if anyone knows where a cheaper place to get the oil is i got a jar from tesco that was 7 pounds its organic virgin coconut oil its a 283ml jar
Yeah, I've used eyeshadow for it before.. But I just can't seem to make my arch look as dramatic as i like it without a pencil.. But I will try it out again, since its been awhile, and now I actually have some brows there to work with. I have been trying to just leave my brows alone. They are growing back niceissshh. I got a pretty good shape goin on. kinda. WOO WOO.
Coconut oil can damage my hair!! Oh no. So how often can I use it?
Good luck with your hair Hananathebanana. π
I put some coconut oil on about an hour ago and am planning to do a bleach/lightening kit tonight. How long should I leave the oil on for? The container said 1 hour and rinse but I know on here ladies were saying just leave it on while you bleach.
definately leave it on while you dye. prevents damage. most people here do that

Have you made sure that's 100%virgin coconut oil? As I know a lot of these specifically for hair ones contain other things. The ones most of us use are from food shops.
here we say to put coconut oil on and to leave on and put the bleach over it, as the oil protects the scalp and hair, but the bleach will work though it still to dye your hair
Yeah, I actually bought it from the grocery store, it is an organic virgin oil, the only ingredient in it is coconut oil! How long should i wait before I bleach it though? Its been nearly 2 hours but I am going to take the dog for a walk now, so it will be close to 3 by the time I get back. Will that be long enough of should it be more time before I bleach it?
about an hour is fine, but 3 is fine too. Some people leave it on overnight then bleach.

I think it can depend. But overuse of protein (which is what you're doing with the coconut oil, helping build up protein) can cause hair to go dry and brittle, so you're kind of back at square one. I've been reading lately that some hair just doesn't like protein and I think I have that. Yet others seem to be able to use it all the time and it makes their hair feel amazing.
my hair feels really soft from the coconut oil. Best thing I have ever used on it. and I did a trim last night. My hair actually looks and feels like real hair again.
I used Coconut oil on my hair, let it sit for 4-5 hours the bleached it, let it sit with the package of conditioner that came in the box overnight and my hair is great today. Not in better condition than before I started, but I definitely noticed a difference between bleaching before without it and this time using the oil! My hair isn't even close to being fried or stretchy to anything! None of it even fell out when I leached! Yeah! Thanks so much for the heads up ladies!! My hair is just an orangish yellow. I would put a pic up but I don't know how. I am just wondering will I need to bleach it again or is it safe to put on the white toner from directions?
Glad to hear your hair faired well, sashastar4. Please do not bleach your hair again for a minimum of four weeks. It's likely best to use a toner to see how much of the yellow/orange you can pull out whilst you wait. If you're still not as light as you'd like to be, then try bleach bathing in four weeks instead of full bleach to lift you the little bit more you'll need to go. Remember, you won't be able to bleach to white. You can only bleach to inside of banana peel colour, then you'll need to tone the rest of the way.
Is the directions white toner a good one to use? And how long after this bleaching last night should I wait before putting the toner on? Will i need to mix the toner with anything?
I've not used toner personally, so someone with experience will have to chime in on that. Sorry!
