That sounds wrong. Are you sure it was 100% virgin coconut oil? Maybe you used to much. Maybe your bleach mix was a bit too runny?

So has anyone tried doing this with argon oil instead of coconut oil, since it said you could use that in place of it? Coconut oil is not readily available in my area, but Argon oil is.  πŸ™

I think argon oil has a similar chemical structure to coconut oil (at least from the things I've read online) and would work fine, but things like olive oil or vegetable oil wouldn't work.

My hairdressers put moroccan oil in with the bleach when they did mine, seemed to help a bit but probably would have been better all over my hair and left for a bit, but that's not gonna happen at a hairdressers haha.

Argan oil had works for me. I haven't try with coconut oil yet for a bleach, but argan let my hair cool.
The article say that Argan has the same effects than coconut, and that the better is to mix them together. So, I'll try !

Next time, if it's dripping, blot off some of the excess. You can have too much of a good thing πŸ™‚

I too looked all over for virgin coconut oil. I happened across some in the vitamin section in Walmart... For those of us the live in the US. It is Spring Valley Extra Virgin Coconut Oil. It cost me 10 USD for 12oz. I bought it and I am not sitting here with it in my hair. I will post in several hours to let you know how it works. Smells incredible!

So I left the coconut oil in for 4 hours, even took a small nap. I did a 30vol bleach bath and ...
from what I can tell it helped some. My hair is a little dry, but over all no severe damage!

I put coconut oil in my hair and slept in it and bleach bathed my hair the next day and somehow it felt in better condition than before πŸ™‚

I used the coconut oil only as a treatment, haven't yet decided wether to bleach or not. Left it on for about 20 hours, even spent time out in the sun, but it did nothing for my hair. The lengths actually feel drier than it was πŸ™ Plus my shedding and scalp problems to hasn't improved either, they've worsen

Could it have been a bad reaction to the coconut?

Coconut oil deposits protein, which can dry hair out - use a deep conditioner and it should feel better πŸ™‚
