uhm, AP is strong enough to go over a gingery colour, so i reckon just do a bleach bath before you dye it, instead of the full bleach.

Be careful! : If you put bleach on the roots, you have to wait until your own oil(sebum? sp) comes out again... if not you risk to burn your scalp... so wait more than an hour!!
(atomic pink is permanent.. you knew it? just to make sure.. πŸ™‚ )
If your hair is damaged I'd try with a bleach-bath, you don't want to fry it with a full bleach...

mix up the bleach as normal, then add shampoo, like head and shoulder.

Sorry my english is bad...^^ but I meant if you do like the first post says and use a strong clarifiyng shampoo, which is also drying, I wouldn't apply the bleach to the scalp until at least 24 hours after using one, or else you could burn the skin... I hope I have explained myself better this time ^^

clarifying will remove any build up of products on your hair and make it all nice a clean so you get an even colour result. and you wont waste your nice shampoo in bleach where it wont do anything at all. You may aswell save it so you can have nice curly hair when its pink.  =]

does coconut oil work before a bleach bath or just with full bleaching?
if I use shampoo with the bleaching I would guess it doesn't protect my hair anymore

I feel so lost because I can't even FIND coconut oil even after asking in the supermarket xD
They keep telling me the drug store but I still can't seem to find it. What exact section would it be in? And I appoligize if it's been asked before, I looked through these pages but didn't see it. >.<
P.S. I'm in the states so I don't have a tesco or any of the stores previously mentioned...
