I can't believe she's hesitant in sueing them! this just shows how_most_hairdressers know so little about bleaching, it's not on! if people don't stand up for themselves nothing will be done about it and others are in danger. this isn't the first time I've heard these kind of stories and the salon always blackmails/manipulates the client into not pressing charges or even making them think it's the clients own fault!

The fact that she has been to the doctors is brilliant from a suing point, at least she has it on her medical records that she has been burnt by the chemicals they used.
i dont know if this might help:

she really should sue though. And failing that, she should let the local press know. Naming and shaming is sometimes the best thing to do, especially when it involves the safety of others.

Thats appalling! I can't believe they charged £200! surely at that price the salon would be "reputable"?! She definitely needs to do something about it. I'd be careful about putting on a wig at the moment as it could damage her scalp and hair even further. I'd use keratin based products which will help. also plenty of hair masques, just slather them on and leave, this should at least help her scalp if not the hair.
