Can I dye my hair blonde after bleaching/dying?

Hi! I really hope you guys can help me with a bit of advice.

I have previously had bleached stripes added to my hair - excuse my lack of terminology in English. So since it had been a while, I had grown dark roots and wasn't too satisfied with the stripes either as it made my hair look slightly yellow when mixed with stripes of my own color. So I asked the hairdresser to see if she could get rid of the yellow tint and also cover my roots. Only, she didn't bleach, she kinda colored them. Which meant that the roots turned out a bright bronze color and so did the old dark stripes. To alleviate the problem, she added bleached stripes only at the roots, but I still loathe the orange, since that's what I wanted to get rid of.

So my question is - can I buy a bright blonde hair dye to cover the orange? Not a bleach, but a dye. Since I've had both dye and bleached stripes done a few days ago, could it potentially screw up my hair? I am just scared of the dreaded green or my hair burning off or something bad like that, but gawd, I hate the brass color!

Advice very much appreciated!

I've had really good success using a very diluted purple dye to get rid of orange, yellow, brassy tones... it works wonders.  You probably don't want to use any box blonde dyes because they contain very strong levels of peroxide (and in many cases they will also contain bleaching agents), and that will continue to damage your hair unnecessarily.

If you look into silvering products, such as Touch of Silver, Pravana Silver, and other non-peroxide semi permanent dyes in a deep purple colour, that should tone down the brassy tones you're describing.  Touch of Silver products are fine to use straight out of the bottle, but if you get a purple or silvering dye (such as Pravana Silver), then make sure you use only a little bit of dye diluted in loads of conditioner, because that's all you will need to do the trick.

That's my suggestion, and I think you will be pleased with the outcome... good luck! πŸ˜€
