Brassy Orange hair toner miracle - Japanese hair colour

I wanted to share my experience with you.

I moved to Tokyo and couple of months ago and I decided that I was bored of my hair again. Plain colours are just not for me and as soon as my hair gets in better condition I get the urge to damage it again  πŸ˜‰

As you can see from the pictures below, my hair was a reddy brown. Before I dyed my hair this colour I had bright ginger.

I wasn't sure what products to try as I can't read Japanese. I took a chance on a box bleach by a company called Fresh Light (apparently the company are Schwarzkopf). This lifted great with little damage but as I expected my hair was a bright Orange hot mess. I'm sure you all know if you've bleached your hair before from a dark shade what colour I mean.

I wasn't prepared to bleach my hair anymore as I've been silly in the past and ruined my hair. So I looked around to see what colours I could buy to try and tone down the Orange. I came across a colour in the same brand as the bleach I bought and it was called Ash. The box shows a kawaii dolly with grey hair, Yep completely gray. I bought this and gave it a try. To my surprise, the product was crazy strong so I think it contained bleach but I went along anyway.

After checking my hair every 5/10 minutes I could see it was going darker so after around 20 minutes I washed it off. I dried it and I couldn't believe my eyes. There was practically NO ORANGE. Most of my hair was grey with some yellowy tones but definitely not Orange.

Please see the picture. Unfortunately I forgot to take a photo of when it was Orange but I think you get the idea.

If you can get hold of this product, do it, it's amazing. I'm now using purple shampoo to lighten it up a bit ready for lilac later on. The best part is is that my hair isn't even damaged, after a few deep treatments it should be back to itself.

That is a really nice result πŸ™‚ I'm impressed by how well it came out. Just be careful for the next couple
Of months and treat your hair nicely because if you have double processed it then the damage might take a while to show.

Thanks for the advice πŸ™‚ I definitely will take care. I wear wigs a lot of the time anyway so my I won't be using any heat products on it as I don't need to.

This is really cute and I am very jealous of you living in Japan πŸ˜€ They have some really cool hair color brands there.

Very cool. It looks great. Glad it worked out for you. If you can get it there, 100% pure coconut oil has really helped my hair.  πŸ™‚

Thanks for the tip! I live in Japan, too, and really struggle with the beauty products and language barrier out here.

Figuring out toners and dyes really confuses me.
