box bleach?

Sorry if this had been asked before, but someone just recommended box bleach instead of the usual kind we use.  Does that actually work? I currently have former pink, bb hair. Mostly blonde yellow, some pinky orange remains. I would be ok with being a nice blonde for a bit and I know I can't double process when using a box either, but are those effective? Are they too strong or fickle? I've never done it, so any advice would be great! Thanks

They're all different but the biggest downside is that you don't know the strength of the peroxide. And a lot seem to be 40 vol, so pretty much too strong for anyone.

I find bleach to be more effective, predictable, and you know what vol developer you are using. Most box blondes have 40 or 30 in them, but you really don't know..and you can still double process with them. You could be doing more damage to your hair with less the lightening than if you just used bleach.

Yea I actually called Loreal and they said it wouldn't work for me. But I'm feeling like I'm at my BB limit. I didn't do that many, and actually space them out about 3 weeks, but still it's getting a bit too damaged for my comfort level. Which is sad because I didn't get to where I wanted to, but for that to happen I might have to grow it all out and by then I won't want it anymore lol.  I also do need a cut, I will say that that's a major part of it.

If you're already having some damage then I would steer clear from peroxide for a while then, like bleach baths and blonde dyes especially. A cut will help, removing the damage like that is the best thing you can do πŸ™‚ I would get a cut, do some reconstructing treatments and assess your hair's condition in a month or so (clarify, don't condition or use products and let it dry). You can always try a test strand of a bb at that point if your hair feels good + the damage is cut off. What bleach are you using?
