Hi guys first time poster! So I could use some good advice I'm currently a medium brunette and just purchased blonde brilliance lightening kit that comes with the bleach powder and a 35 developer. A lot of people have told me it will only take one bleaching to get the desired level (before toning) others say it will take two times... So my questions are... 1. Should it only take once? 2. Who has used blonde brilliance before and what are the results and 3. Is blonde brilliance a newer product?? Thanks guys! I'll be bleaching my hair in 1 week so any advice is appreciated! *1*
EDIT*** I will be using blonde brilliance platinum blonde toner as well.
How quickly/easily hair lightens depends on its texture as well as the colour. The only way to be certain is to strand test.
35 vol peroxide is really strong though, I wouldn't go higher than 30 for an on scalp application, even on virgin hair
Thanks! 🙂 well my hair is not thick but not thin either it's medium so what do you think?
It is more about how dense the pigment is and how tightly pached your cuticles are.
Can you post a pic of the current colour and the colour you want to achieve?
It is possible to go from a medium brown to platinum blonde in one go, especially if the hair has few red tones. Yours appears quite ashy so shouldn't go too orange when bleached.
(Human hair contains two types of pigment, one is much harder to lift than the other. It is not possible to tell by looking which is the dominant pigment in dark hair)
Bleaching hair once with very strong peroxide is not the way i would recommend doing it.
it is more damaging and also more difficult to apply if you have never used bleach before. High vol peroxide makes the bleach work very quickly, so you need to apply it quickly in order to get an even result.
