This will be my first time doing my roots at home as I refuse to ever step foot in a salon again after 2 disasters involving bleach! I'm just wondering if I'd need to full on bleach my roots or if I could get away with doing like a bleach bath just on the roots? My hair seems to react very quickly to bleach & is usually quite a light blonde within about 10-15mins & as I'm pink it's not essential I reach a super light blonde. So would that work? Is there any brand people would recommend? Also I'm a little worried about over lapping, I've managed to get my OH to agree on helping me with all the areas I can't see in the mirror lol.. So any advice would be great, I'm confident I'll do a better job then a hairdresser regardless π lol.
What colour is your hair naturally again?
You might be able to get away with using a 10 or 20 vol peroxide which would make it a lot safer. If your hair normally lifts that fast then you want to keep the reaction slower, which a lower vol peroxide will do.
You might be able to use a 10 vol then. As you say, you don't need it white for that pink then that should be enough. See what other people say, but I think it would be enough.
I used 10 vol on my dark/medium brown roots with a really good bleach (Matrix Light Master) and they went to a gold which would have been light enough for pink. So on your dark blonde 10 vol should be fine, although the brand of bleach does make a difference too.
Ah thank you guys π I'll use a 10vol then, @WickedPixie I'll look up the bleach you mentioned, thank you.
