*boo*
Yesterday I decided since I'd almost faded to a neutral colour, except I still had some reddy-orange sticking to my roots, I'd bleach that out and go platinum. I did a bleach bath of mostly 40vol, a bit of 10vol and quite a bit of Tresemme clarifying shampoo and blue powder. It mostly lifted fine but somehow the orangey roots went absolutely luminous pink! I thought, stuff it, I'll stick the silver toner on and see what happens.
This is what happened:
It looks a heck of a lot brighter IRL. So although I'm really happy with the lengths (I've never had hair this pale before!) the roots are a very pale yellow nearest my scalp where they were virgin, and the bits that were orangey are now BRIGHT pink. I went out last night and had to wear a hat to hide it.
Obviously I can't bleach for another week at least and I don't even know if I can bleach out that pink, I don't understand where it's come from tbh because I haven't been pink for a few months! Has this happened to anyone else? How did you fix it? Or should I just do something crazy like dye my roots pink intentionally? I hear that's a thing now.
Try some fading methods. I have had good results with colour removers on similar staining, they seem to work better after bleaching.
I think that will get it out, if not you will have to do some clever toning to get the yellow and pink areas to match. Try putting a pic into negative to see the colours you would need to use.
Thaaanks Wicked Pixie. π I left it for a day then tried a bicarb soda/lemon juice/vitamin C tablet/Washing Out Liquid shampoo mix on the pink bits for about ten minutes then shampooed it out and then used Touch Of Silver Twice A Week shampoo and conditioner. Didn't really make a difference. I'm wondering if I put a blue dye on my roots, sort of reverse-ombre style, could that even it out eventually when it fades? I only have Directions Atlantic Blue and Bleach London Washed Up Mermaid which both fade to green so I'd probably try Directions Neon Blue... could this work? When I say just dye my roots I mean kind of like this lady here.
