Hi guys 🙂
My hair was dyed cyber purple by xxl and it faded quickly and I want something more fun and brighter for my wedding in July.
I realise I need to lighten it. I used goldwell colour remover last night and it's lightened and looks quite red. It's only been dyed twice in the last 2 years.
Should I use another colour remover?
Should I do a full head of bleach or bleach bath?
Thanks x
There's a photo of my hair before and after treatment.
Yes, use another colour remover. You can use them up to three times. Please wait until it's been a month since the last time you bleached before doing it again.
I'm going to buy some colour b4 as that goldwell a stuff wasn't that great.
I'm hoping to only have to bleach once to achieve a purple - is that realistic? Really don't want my hair in horrible condition for my wedding!!
Well, colour b4 seemed to work well. I'm now ginger!!! (Natural hair colour is darkish brown) that XXL stuff must be strong to have lightened my hair underneath so much.
Going to try bleaching later with 20vol and coconut oil. I'm really nervous!

It's best to wait a week between colour removers and bleach in order to stop the colour from reoxidising.
Do a strand test with peroxide and if it doesn't go darker then you should be fine. If there are dye molecules that haven't washed out the peroxide will make them darken again.
I think that's a really cute colour btw.
Ok I will try a strand test first.
Is bleach bath a good idea or a full bleach?
Thank you 🙂 it's quite cool but I really want purple, hope it all works out ok.
Currently have lots of coconut oil on my head.
As your hair has been processed before I would go for a bleach bath to cause less damage. You should be able to get to a shade of purple, how light/bright it will be will depend on the base you get to.
Ok cool thanks! Hoping to use bruised violet after by bleach London.
This is a picture of bruised violet over orangy brown hair, just as an idea of what you'll probably get if you apply it over your hair after one bleach bath.
(Sorry if you've seen it before.)
The second picture is after a second application.
Thank you so much for the pictures!
I tried doing a bleach bath on a small strand but it didn't seem to change colour much.
Maybe I should wait a week. I'm not sure what to so now.

Bleach baths are a gentle way of lightening, you normally only get a couple of shades lighter. But you can do them a week to two weeks apart and it's much easier to control the amount of damage.
I have heard mixed reviews on the Bleach London Colours, but you would get a lovely dark purple over that base if you use Pravana violet or a purple by Special Effects
