Hello!
Basic and Short - How do I get pink and oranges from old semi-P dyes after I bleached... without bleaching again. I have heard of something with Vitamin C?
Detailed: So, I have been dying my hair red with Splat (Different types of reds they offer) for about three years now. I am always hesitant to use Bleach, so to be clear, I have only bleached my hair three times in these three years. Anywho, it has been over a year since my last bleach, and recently I decided if I was obviously sticking to a crazy color I would try and get a dye that wasn't so... well Sh *say* **. After a lot of research I decided on Ion, and being a year since my last bleach, I decided before using it I would bleach again, (Get rid of these lonnng roots). All the hair that was brown is now blond (Including that annoying sideways streak I missed a year ago but choose to ignore.) Unfortunately, everything else is pink and orange. I have heard of the Vit. C method, and am curious if that will work after I bleached it, and if that will damage my hair.
My hair has always taken to different harsh treatments well (Not including the time a year ago I was going to go brown for the summer (Bleeding hair and swimming sucks!) and the cheap brand I bought fried my hair and I lost Three feet of it!). However, I have never been particularly harsh on my hair, I don't curl or straighten it, no heat products of any kind.
I am really hoping to get rid of as much extra color as I can before using Ion, better to ensure I am not stuck with random stripes of light and dark hair (Which would be okay if they didn't go across my head sideways.)

What colour do you actually want to use? You might not need to remove it.
Here’s a good thread on methods of fading https://www.hairdyeforum.com/index.php/topic,1704.0.html unfortunately, red is one of the hardest to remove completely.
Personally I wouldn’t recommend Ion. Some don’t last long and others permanently stain the hair.

I am using ION Red and Magenta, I am hoping it covers the odd difference in orange and pink. I only really use red colors, Is Ion better than Splat, or should I stick to the brand I know? Thank you for answering.

I’ve not used Splat or Ion myself, so I’m going by what others have said. Special affects and Adore generally do the best pinks and reds.
As you’re still using red, there’s no need to take out the orange/pink, unless it’s very dark which I doubt because you bleached it. You could add a tiny bit of blue to neutralise the orange, but I doubt you’ll need to. Good quality reds are very forgiving, highly pigmented and cover uneven bases well.
