Good morning everybody! I'm praying somebody here can help me.
For basically my entire life my hair was super blonde. When I was young the sun bleached it - once I got older and didn't spend as much time in the sun, I started using dye. Not generally bleach, just a really light blonde.
Well, about 2 years ago I decided to make the move towards my natural hair color. I let my roots grow out for 2 months and did a sort of ombre. A few weeks ago I decided that I wanted more blonde, so we threw in a little bleach and brightened things up. Over the weekend I decided that I wanted to go even more blonde... Bad idea. It took 4 processes yesterday to get my hair to where it is right now. The first time made me super brassy, then the violet toner pulled too much and made me grey, then removing the toner made me super yellow and finally adding a neutral blonde brought me to where I am now.
The blonde I have now isn't terrible. I think a couple rounds of purple shampoo and it'll be great. The thing is, my hair looks so fake right now! I love the super blonde, but I think the issue is coming in around my face. Maybe it's just too much of a contrast with my skin?
I've attached a few pictures. One is my hair last week, one is my hair down from last night and the other is my hair right now, in a ponytail in natural light.
Please help! I don't know what to do. I'm so picky and paranoid about my hair and right now I HATE it. I'm so embarrassed to be at work right now with it looking like this.
Any advice and/or opinions and recommendations would be so very appreciated.
Thanks in advance!!
I quite like it.
You can make your own purple toner using purple dye and white conditioner. Mixing your own allows you to make it as dark or light as you want. That will help tone down the yellowness. If you have purple shampoo, you can also use that as toner by leaving it on for longer. I like putting it on dry hair.
You have processed your hair already so please do not use any peroxide products.
When I was all over bleach blonde I hated it for the first few days every time I did my roots! I think it's because it's the lack of different tones that you get when hair is highlighted or natural blonde. It always settled in though. I say give it a few days then see how you feel.
I think you will like it better in a few days when you have a few millimetres of regrowth. I always hated white blonde against my skin.
You could also try a darker blonde toner to tide you over, Superdrug have a great selection.
