Yup, bleach works quicker on the roots so regular bleach tends to turn them much lighter than the lengths of your hair. Bleach bathing the roots will only lighten it a little so it should match in better with your lengths that way.

If you need a full head application yes, lengths then roots. The heat from your head affects about one inch from the roots (2-3cms) and that develops really fast.

Otherwise just do the roots if that's all you need.

Just wondering, I've had blue hair for about....4 months?  I've faded it without chemicals as much as I can,  so much so, its looking green at the  ends and my roots are terrible, we're talking 2 inches almost here. 🙁  My hair feels great as I've been treating it the past 2 months, but I'm paranoid about damage, so do you think a bleach bath will be enough to get the blue out of my hair and tackle so extensive roots?

I'm planning on bleaching later today, how long should I wait before I can bleach bath it?
I was thinking about leaving it a week (depending on condition) and doing two conditioning treatments in between. I'm just hoping this won't completely kill my hair :/

If I bleached my hair tonight and it's a little patchy in places how soon is it ok to bleach bath? My hair is still wet but I've got a deep restorative conditioner on it and it seems to be in fairly good condition, not gummy or anything. Also and this may sound silly but does the color of your shampoo matter? Like does it have to be white shampoo or can it be any old herbal essense stuff that may be pink or blue or whatever??

thanks for the tutorial.
I shall be trying this (:
question - If i bleached part of my hair twice and the ends are still kinda brown while the rest is orange/yellow, do you think the bleach bathing will have much effect on that? :/ i want to get my hair as light as possible but its kinda hard because of dye build up and shizz :/

p.s. What purple hair dye do you use? sorry if this is offtopic, i just saw your hair in your dp and was like wow! xD its amazing!!

firstly I have an xxl bleach (absolute platinum) can I do a bleach bath with this or buy something else?? if so pls can you recommend something and where from?

secondly when I do do it, my roots are my natural colour (they do say Im a dark blonde-havent been natural for yrs so not sure-but at the mo my roots look a dark brown) and the hair under the pink was bleached to a strawberry blonde, so would I do roots and wait to do ends, or ...... sorry its all going over my head lol

You could try using color zap to remove the old color and then bleach bathing i believe. If the color is only on your ends just use it on them and leave the rest. I know it's too late now but for next time if you had used color zap first you may not have had to bleach twice.

And will it brighten my current hair much? or shall i just bleach again?

Hey, I'm not sure about using colored shampoo for the bleach bath, that's something i wondered about too but if you just bleached last night you really shouldn't bleach again so soon, you could fry your hair. You should give it a break and deep condition if for a week or 2, i know people say don't bleach more than once a month but i think that it really depends on the condition of your hair, i bleached mine like 3 times last month but it was in really good condition before the first one and i conditioned lots in between. Your hair looks good, nice and even, what color are you going for? Are you doing this to dye over with a bright color? because depending what color you're hair may be light enough. If you're doing this to be blond maybe try a toner

I'm not going to be bleaching it soo soon, as its a bit frazzled ont he tips because my straighteners were too high when i started straightening lol..
Well i've bleached it from pink, but i wanted the pink brighter... but at the moment im looking to hair it blonde again as i miss my hair blonde.. but when i get bored i have my 'stargazer' hair dye ready for when i do..

Heres a pic of what it was before, (looked different in different lights)
& a pic of after bleaching with 30Vol And using purple shampoo and conditioner.

my hair was similar in color after my bleachings and i tried a toner but it didn't really do much so i put a semi permanent blond dye over it, i believe I used a natural blond, or maybe an ash blonde, i can't remember right now, it was a 8 something. So you could try doing that, put a semi permanent blonde over it to tone it down and make it less yellow and then bleach again in a month or whatever if you still want to, just don't use a golden blonde.
