You can only tell yourself. We don't know the true condition of your hair. Hair in good condition can often take several, but it's different for everyone. All you can do is try it and assess your hair a fews days after.

Hi everyone, tonight I did my very first bleach bath and I have a few questions about what to do next. It went really well but some of the lengths are noticeably darker, I think it was my fault as I decided to wash it out early as the roots were crazy blonde and I got a little scared! I did leave the roots till the end but they just seem to go really light reeeally fast! I must be very hot headed!!

I was wondering if it will be safe to mix up another batch tomorrow and just brush some on the darker bits? And if so should I cover my hair with coconut oil again tonight like a did last night? I have not conditioned it since washing it out, I just used some more of the shampoo I used for the bleach bath to wash out the bleach. My hair is feeling fine, in fact it feels lovely! So I am hoping it will be ok to bung some of for a little bit just to balance it out.

I am planning to dye it with Directions pillarbox red once I am all done with the bleaching and I was wondering if I should condition it before I put the dye on then condition once that has been washed out?

Sorry for all the questions and a massive thank you in advance 😀

no. you should wait at least a week between bbs. give it a kpak and some deep conditioning and do the darker bits (on dirty coconut oiled hair) a week later at the earliest.

Does anyone know if this would work with a sulfate free shampoo? I'm kind of loving the whole CG method thing and have stuck to it pretty religiously, so there really shouldn't be any build-up on my hair. Is that why a clarifying shampoo would normally be used?

It should work with any shampoo. When I've done it I've used a cheapo shampoo.

I use either a cheapo shampoo (from anti-dandruff to sulphate-free) or cheapo conditioner (so no sulphates at all!) and it works every time.

Can anyone advice me on the amounts to use (I'm mathematically challenged and very easily confused, lol!) I'd like to know actual amounts, not "parts" which I can't get my head around!

My hair is a couple of inches past waist length, average or below average thickness.
A similar question was asked earlier in the thread, but I don't think anyone replied...

There aren't set amounts because people with different length hair need different amounts, even the way you apply will mean you need different amounts. So it's really hard to give a set amount. Just start with one lot and quickly work with it, if there's not enough, mix some more quickly.

Parts work like this.

If you are told, 1 part of x to 2 parts of y, then if you use 10ml of x you need 20 ml of y. If you use 30ml of x you need 60ml of y. It's always twice as much y to x. If it helps, imagine them in jars. 1 jar of x to 2 jars of y. 4 jars of x to 8 jars of y.

Thanks Janine. I suppose the best thing is to mix up a lot, even if I end up wasting some. I wasn't sure what amounts to buy the bleach etc in, but better too much than not getting enough!

I always buy a large tub of bleach and a large tub of peroxide 🙂 It ends up cheaper that way.
