With the coconut oil. Should I wash it out before the BB or leave it on?
It's been 4 weeks since my disaster bleach and pink toner at hairdresser it's now a pale pinky peach so hoping this will lift to pale yellow so I can tone and finally dye to a pastel shade!!

Leave the coconut in. good luck with getting to pastel π if it isnt quite light enough after one bleach bath, wait a week and try another.
Thank you π x
Just want to say I really appreciate this tutorial. I'd never heard of this technique before and the instructions are great - even *I* can understand it. π
Just wondering, has anyone ever tried a BB with violet shampoo rather than clear?
It's a waste of good shampoo. The bleach eats through the violet, best save ot for after.
Ahh thanks, you've just saved me a few quid π
hey ! i've been bleaching my hair for 6 months now, but I do want to try a gentler method because my scalp isn't liking the bleach too much.... If my hair is already platinum blond apart from my roots, do I still need to put the bleach all over? would that help with evening out the color? would that damage it ? ( I know you're not suppose to bleach twice and I've never done that before... ) thank you so much, the tutorial is really nice btw ! π
Never reprocess hair if you don't need to--if you're staying blonde, just keep it to your roots.
Everything I have read/seen online for bleach baths relate to all ready colored/bleached hair. Will it still work well with a non-processed hair as a base? Will it make the process harder or easier?
It makes no difference really. It's just a way of lightening the hair by a shade or two. We often use it on coloured hair to remove the last traces of colour staining. π
Trying this tonight. Going to do a test strand after dinner and see how well things turn out before going all in.
i hope you like how it turns out! just remember, hair lightens the fastest near the scalp, so its best to apply it there last to get a more even result π and being that you have unprocessed hair you should get a good lift!
(Nov. 13) Okies. Test strip is going. If I guessed right I am about a 5-4 on color wheel so I am going for the directions for the med brown. Going to check it in 10min to see if any progress. Got a late start, waited to get both kids to bed first to eliminate any possible side drama. Lol
40 minute test strip. Not bad at all. π And I have a second kit just in case I need to take it down a peg or two in a few weeks.

(Nov. 14) Looks better in natural light. Last night in the bathroom light it looked way more orange. And since my hair was cut before treating it is curling again. Lol. Went way better than expected. Missed my side burn area, they are still brown lol.
(Nov. 18) okay, okay, I know it hasn't been a week but I am weak and my red came in the mail. I won't be toning it is light enough. Unfortunately even though I started with the back it is still darker than the front. XD oh well. On with the color!
Is it worth doing the BB on natural Asian/Spanish black brown, thick strands and coarse textured virgin hair (Base 2)? My hair is pretty strong as I have bleached it some years ago when I was younger and it can easily withstand 40 vol with heat (if I only knew then what I know now). I am aiming for a more yellow level for the colour I want and I am worried that I may be unnecessarily protracting the process. Would a one time 30 vol. bleaching session followed by BB a month later be a better and a quicker alternative?
