You could double the amount, I use 1 bottle/1 sachet of bleach (so equal parts) on my relatively fine chin length hair. You could use two bottles and two sachets of bleach but it should always be the same ratio.
Depending on how thick your hair is you might have to use more or less.
But as Glitterpix said, you should wait for another process because otherwise you risk stressing your hair..
(Oh and in reply to your question on clarifying shampoo, I just use any clear stuff I have around, lol.. probably could use non clear stuff too.)
Thank you, really helpful π
Just another question is using a 30vol peroxide ok for bleach baths if you're using less of it?
So its equal amounts of bleach and shampoo? Can you use conditioner? You put it on wet hair?
I have regularly bleached my hair to this horrid orange. (in my profile pic) I am planning on doing a bleach bath or 2 in a few weeks to get it yellow. Hope a bleach bath will do the trick. π
I have red/brow/ginger hair i, used colour b4 today and in 2 weeks am going to do a bleach bath Is it best to use 30 or 40 vol? π
Step 3
If applying to damp hair - measure 2 parts shampoo
If applying to dry hair - measure about 1.5 parts shampoo + 0.5 part water
Can someone help I dont understand what 1.5 parts shampoo and 0.5 parts water mean how much do i measure out?
The way I have always heard to do a bleach bath is 1 part shampoo 1 part bleach so it's equal amounts. I have always heard to do a bleach bath on damp hair. Its easier to apply. So the 1 part shampoo is the amount of shampoo you would normally use when washing your hair then just measure up that same amount of bleach. So maybe like an 1-2 ounces, depending on the length of your hair.
I could be wrong though. I'm NOT a professional. Bleach Bath at your own risk! π
Step 3
If applying to damp hair - measure 2 parts shampoo
If applying to dry hair - measure about 1.5 parts shampoo + 0.5 part waterCan someone help I dont understand what 1.5 parts shampoo and 0.5 parts water mean how much do i measure out?
To visualise:
If you have 100ml of bleach and you are applying to damp hair, use 200ml of shampoo.
If you have 100ml of bleach and you are applying to dry hair, use 150ml of shampoo and 50ml of water.
So bleach 50ml bleach, 50ml peroxide and then 200ml shampoo? on damp hair... does this count for hair that's been coconut oil-d?
I really need some help, hope you guys have a solution.
I was at a job interview on Monday, on Thursday she called me back and gave me the job. BUT, I could not have pink hair, so my Directions Rose Red has to go.
Since Thursday, I've used a mix of Head and Shoulders, baking soda and dish washing soap in my hair three times, for an hour each time, which have left the ends of my hair a salmony color as well as some lengths at the front. But the rest is still a bright pinky purple and it needs to be gone by tomorrow. Worst case scenario (since she seemed really strict and stuff) she might just fire me if I haven't gotten it out. White was okay, by the way, so that's what I'm aiming for.
So my question is: Would bleach bathing take me to as light as possible to tone my hair to white? Or do I have to go all bleach (6%/vol 20) in order to get it out?
I just came out of the shower after the third H&S/baking soda/dishw. soap, so in any case I might just be facing a scalp burn, but I'm getting rather desperate here π
Azure, can you get your hands on a wig before tomorrow? That's a sure and fast fix... and then you can work to gradually fade as that's the only way to do it. There's no way you're going to safely bleach or fade your hair to white by tomorrow... not without seriously damaging your hair or burning your scalp. With freshly washed hair, I wouldn't dream of going near my scalp with bleach or dye that uses peroxide. I'm really not trying to be mean or anything... just concerned that desperation will push you to do something you'll really regret and you'll ruin your hair or burn your scalp! Congrats on the job, BTW!!!
Uhm... no π
Don't worry, I get what you mean π I guess I was grasping for straws here :/
Thanks π We'll see how long it lasts
There's a very good chance bleaching won't get the pink out anyway I'm afraid. I think you need to look at dying it a darker colour π
can you not do a dark red? like auburn?
janineb, and Glitterpix, those are definitely options to consider, thanks π Unfortunately I'm a student with economy to match, but I have been looking at the Adore dyes. Of course it won't get here in time, so the only other option would be a box dye which I'm no fan of, but I'll do whatever's necessary. But will the dark natural color be able to cover the Rose Red without getting a pink tint?
Forgot to mention, if it makes any difference: It's just the front of my hair that's pink, the rest is my natural medium brown color.
Now if I can just find a Sunday open store that sells a matching box dye...
