I'm new to this forum, and decided it would be a great idea to seek advice here while I'm in the process of getting platinum white Hair!
So, my question is, can I do a "normal" bleach bath over an ombre bleached Hair? Like spreading the mixture evenly all over my hair despite the ombre?
I don't want the ombre to fade! But at the same time, I'm such a noob at this that I wouldn't be able to follow the ombre (I'm even asking a friend to help me with it, since I can't even braid my hair on my own)
My goal is to slowly lighten my blonde until I get to pale blonde, so I can finally tone it down to white.
I'm following Camie Juan guide to get a platinum white hair!
Why don't I go to a hairdresser you might ask me? Because I already went there 2 times to bleach my hair and it cost me over 400$! I'm not complaining about the price. Alexander made an amaaaazing job in my hair.
But right now I'm totally broke. Me and my family spent a lot of money this year, and I can't afford another 200$ process...
Not to mention all the hair products I had to buy. (At least they weren't expensive, since I do co wash and low poo)
I've been taking great care of my bleached Hair. I have a very dry, wavy, bulky and thin hair. I wash my hair only 2/3 times a week (spaced between 3/4 days). I do low poo, no poo and co wash. I follow a capillary chronogram religiously.
First bleaching got me to a dark ombre blonde/light brown hair(?)
(Sorry I'm not good with identifying tones lol)
I just told my hairdresser to go all out and bleach it to the max my hair could take.
I've spent almost 3 months babying my Hair, then proceeded to the second ombre bleaching. The hairdresser toned my hair to an ash colour, but I believe the undertone is around 6/7.
After this last bleaching, my hair became damaged, but I was able to recover it after my second reconstruction. You can see the results in the photo
And now my money is gone and I need a homemade bleach bath!
I heard that bleach baths don't lighten virgin Hair, so it's ok for me to spread the mixture evenly all over my Hair, right? Since only my bleached strands will lighten?
I'm going to use a 30 volume Bleach, quite strong

If your hair is already damaged (which it will be after multiple bleachings) you should be very careful with any more processing.
Wash your hair with a shampoo that has sulphates but no silicone, and don't use conditioner - you need to remove any buildup of products etc without masking your hair's true condition. Only by doing this can you truly assess it.
Remember all the hair masks and treatments can only patch up and smooth out the hair, they can't truly heal it. You're just plastering over the cracks 😉
A bleach bath will certainly lighten all your hair that it comes into contact with, so if you want to keep your virgin hair virgin, don't get bleach bath mix on it! Slop conditioner on it, and don't pin the bleached hair up on top of hair you don't want to bleach.
If you do bleach bath all over, as long as you do it evenly, you'll still have the ombre anyway. Remember to leave the roots for last, or avoid them altogether.

Yeah, if you’ve already got damage, you’re best off not doing it unless you’re really happy with the idea of cutting it a lot if the worst happens. Which is almost certa8ny will unfortunately. I guarantee you your hair isn’t recovered, it’s patched up. You can never fully repair already damaged hair. Once it’s bleached again it’ll revert to the damaged state and get even worse.

That's a great tip! I thought bleach baths wouldn't do anything to virgin hair since they are more light than bleaching! It's good to know that, thanks

I still think my hair can take it. It got damaged but just a bit (like, it got frizzy and volumized, the bottom of the hair got split ends and broke a bit, not to the point of a chemical haircut)
I'm ready to take this risk. Even if my hair just looks healthy from the outside, I'm happy with it ;D

Any breakage is sign of really bad damage though. We're all guilty of thinking our hair can take it sometimes because we really want to do something, so just be sure you're really ready to take the risk. I've had to council way too many people who thought their hair could take it, that they were sure they were ready to take the risk... then it all went the worst way and they were devastated 🙁
I forgot to add, don't expect conditioner to block the beach bath on the virgin hair. It will still eat through it and bleach your hair a bit.

Also trim off the split ends as soon as you see them - damage travels up the hair shaft and if you leave it, you'll end up losing more length than "necessary".
A good rule of thumb is to not bleach any more hair than you can accept having cut off.
