Bleach Bath for Balayage roots?

Hello!

So I posted in the hello thread with some of my color information but I'll re-post it below before my question
Roots | brunette level 3 - 4
Middle / main | blonde level 7 - 8
Tips / ends | blonde level 9
pic attached for reference

My hair naturally lightens in the sun but with the winter I have to up keep with my roots which is a pain. I use box color (eek!) Garnier Olia Oil Powered Permanent Haircolor 7.0 Dark Blonde. Normally in the summer I don't dye it it will naturally blend itself.

Other than that all my blonde is just bleached (power & 20 developer) no actual color dyes. I do tone with Wella toners (pale ash blonde T14 | lightest beige blonde T11)

I stumbled across a "bleach bath" recently and was wondering if I could use that for gently lifting my roots & giving my blonde a refresh?  Or would it just even out all the color in my hair? I would like to keep my balayage. I do not trust myself lifting my roots with straight bleach like I do with my ends. I would like it to blend nicely.

This may seem like a silly question but I am self taught (I only dye my own hair) so any advice would be great! Thanks!

What do you mean by 'give your blonde a refresh'?
A bleach bath is just diluted bleach, so it will lift all your hair the same amount, it won't even it out.

When I said "refresh" I meant like will also lighten my already bleached ends. That was my bad with a poor choice of wording.

I would like to cut my hair more often with bleaching and heat (curling wand) but I always hated cutting off any of my blonde ends so if I can lighten everything all together that would be ideal.

I use Prism Lites in blue & a 20 volume developer currently. Would you suggest I stick with that volume? Bump up to 30?

Thanks for your reply! πŸ™‚

I think doing a bleach bath all over will be less effective than your current routine. I definitely wouldn't put any bleach on the ends if they are already light enough
If your natural  colour is dark you are likely to reveal a lot of warm tones by bleaching just a little
It looks great as it is, i would keep doing what you are doing

Just figured I'd post an update after I tried out the bleach bath method in-case anyone stumbles upon this some time.

I used the same products as my normal hair / bleach routine:
Blue Bleach Powder | 20 Developer | ADDED: Ion Color Defense Shampoo

Ratio used: 1:2:3 - may be too much Shampoo but I'd rather be safe than sorry! Only left it on for maybe 5 - 7 minutes because with the shampoo lathering up I thought it was going light very fast but false alarm.

I toned it with Wella Color T15 (pale beige blonde) which looked more ashy in store so I'm not in love with the current look but I will re-tone with more ash one of these nights.

Overall though I am VERY happy with the way it lighten all my hair subtly.  It took the heavy darkness out of my roots to make my over all look softer. My hair also naturally highlights (a little) and the bath help bring them out / blend my hand painted bleached pieces in better.

Total time for mix / dye / wash / tone = about 25 minutes - INSANE! Hand painting took me forever!

I would suggest any one wanted to try this to go for it, just play it safe and slow if you're nervous.  *lovestars*
