im trying to get to my natural color so i only want to be using demis as it grows out but i also want to add balayage/ombre highlights to the bottom of my hair while it grows. currently i have a demi in my hair, its faded quite a bit so i definitely need to add another demi.
the demi in my hair now was put over top of a horrible bleach job that i did all over. so basically i am wondering if i high light the ends with bleach on top of this current demi color will it even work? ive never used a demi before so im not sure how it works with dying over/bleaching.
since i also need to add a demi should i do that first or after the balayage?
if i balayage first and add medium blonde would it be best to do the top half first that i want that color and cover the ends that were bleached after just to tone them?
what demi will not turn them green? should i use an ash color or a beige blonde?
Personally, I'd try to switch the 'demi' with a 'semi' in your plan, just because a demi will contain peroxide, and if you're talking about using bleach (balayage/ombre), you might risk overprocessing your hair, especially if it's already had an all-over bleach job.
So if I'm clear, you need to touch up the base colour (top) and you also want to do a balayage/ombre (lengths)?
If your hair is in good enough condition, I'd do the highlighting/lightening first, then see what tones you're left with, post some pictures here and get some suggestions on how to adjust the overall tone using a diluted semi.
