A Bleach Bath Mess!

I'm not sure what could have happened to cause your hair to turn a darker, brassier colour after trying to remove the colours but my suspicions initially would be that either:
You hair was toned to white and the bleach powder fade removed the toner and returned it to the colour you originally lightened it to (I'm not sure if the product you use is a bleach or a blonde hair day, if it is the latter it may have contained a tint which could have been removed? Or perhaps you lightened and then toned it?)

or that one or more of the colours you had in your hair stained and/or turned a funny colour in reaction to the bleach.

Just a note about the fact that you found the bleach and shampoo fade more damaging than bleach alone - it is important to remember that you were using this method over hair that was already bleached - damage is cumulative so every time you use a process that contains bleach or developer or ammonia it will damage your hair a little further so it is important to think about what you have already done to the hair you are treating previously when assessing how damaging a process will be.

I'm probably not the best person to advise you on obtaining white blonde but I think others will be able to help you better if you could provide a photo of your hair as it currently looks, a photo of the colour you are trying to get back to and a full history of everything you have done to your hair with some sort of time scale (we need to know any colour, colour remover, toner or lightening process that has been on your hair unless the hair that was treated has since grown out and been cut off), please don't go ahead with any bleaching without getting further advice as it could be very damaging depending on what your hair has already gone through.

Alrighty! Hope this hair history isn't from too afar:
Four years ago I did a colour removal on black hair, bleached with manic panic bleach kit 20 vol (to level 5-7, can't remember) and dyed my hair with Directions Cerise. Then I kept it up by using a box colour of Schwartzkopf Live XXL Pure Purple on my roots and eventually used Adore Pink Rose and later Pravana Wild Orchid on my hair, that's the last red dye I used.

Then I used colour removal again, almost a year later, but bleached only half of my hair (with Schwartzkopf BlondMe, to level 9) and dyed the other half black with black box dye (not the best idea, I know :D). I once used wella T18 on the blonde half, it was very white, level 10. On my black side I did the roots with box dye and used semipermanent black to freshen. I had this hair till 2015 winter. I used a colour removal and underneath my hair was level 5-4 and bleached the half with Schwartzkopf BlondMe 20 vol two times. The ends were a bit stained so I cut some of it off to keep it all the same colour. The colour was the same as in the first picture. I toned it with silver shampoo, sometimes with Pravana Silver and sometimes with Pravana Violet or mixture of those both.

Then I went to a hairdresser to touch up my roots in this July and she did something weird and my hair turned bit "pearlescent" (like in the pic ((not my actual hair))), when I asked for lilac hair. Then I dyed my hair a dusky lilac myself with a semipermanent mixture I don't remember all the colours of. Then after that it faded to a pretty neutral light blonde & I did the whole 10 different grays and silvers thing (result in 3rd picture) and ended where I am now :laugh: (last pic, I think it looks lighter in the pic than irl). My hair is a bit dry at the moment from he shampoo bleach, but not really damaged. I don't have many split ends and my hair floats in a glass of water (that's some kind of porosity test, right 😉 )

I don't have time to give you an answer now, but I had the problem with my hair turning dark yellow/light orange when using the bleach powder/shampoo/oils method (twice) so I really don't like it. I did everything the second time that was suggested but it was no better.

If Janine also had the same problem with that method of fading that may well be your answer as to why this has happened, the reds and blacks should have grown quite a way out by now so unless the darkness is limited to the areas where they used to be it seems doubtful that it's old staining from them.

I'm going to leave you in the capable hands of some of the other ladies on here now, as I have only ever gone light blonde from virgin hair (and my natural colour goes blonde very easily) so I'm not really the best person to help!
